Live Recording of Original Songs

Live Recording of Original Songs

Please bring your covid protocols to this outdoor gig.The Duncan Showroom is the best place for this ‘live from the stage’ recording event. The venue has excellent audio and lighting equipment in a small, comfortable room loaded with atmosphere. I will do original tunes for an audience that will, hopefully, include you. I’ll do the same songs in each of two sets and take the best of each to make an EP. Your donation of $5 – $10 gets you in for both sets – at 8 and 9pm.

New Track

The Visionary Mind is a new track fresh out of the studio of David Dowe (davidsdowe@gmail.com); he is the producer and engineer for the the tune. I wrote the song and laid down the vocal lines and a couple of basic guitar tracks; David added bass, drums, lead guitar, and lots of good sounds that really bring the tune alive.

The Big Move

On November 15, 2016, I moved from Yellowknife (Northwest Territories, Canada) to Vancouver Island. I had lived in the NWT for eleven years, but after spending two months on a small boat motoring and sailing from Florida to Nova Scotia in June and July, the lure of the ocean returned in force, so it seemed best to return to the island. Well, to be truthful, the urge to get back to the saltwater and the forests and the mountains and the inspiring diversity of ecosystems that the Canadian West Coast offers was overwhelming.

The support of the NWT Arts Counsel was instrumental in the production of my two CDs (Acasta Island and Rock Walker Blues) and in setting up some great mentoring opportunities with Edmonton singer/songwriter John Spearn (www.johnspearn.ca). I will continue focusing on music here in British Columbia and look forward to relating, artistically, to the new environments of the island.
